what do audiophile's think of bose?

im really into home theatre i have a pretty nce set up i have a 7chanel onkyo reciever with an infinity 5.1 speaker package all monster thx standard cables and monster speaker cables but i think that bose really isint worth the money i dont even think that the lifestyle home theater sounds good what do you guys think of bose.

Most audiophiles dont even consider Bose as a real home theater company and will turn their head in disgust when Bose is mentioned in a conversation. Once upon a time Bose was good long long ago now its mostly advertisment and hype I have designed my home theater around the music I listen to and the movies I watch I listen for highs and lows and midrange, and bass for that Bose does a passable job and if it cost 200-400 dollars which in of itself is too much considering the construction of the speakers and the Acustiomass it is too much. Esp now that home theater is moving into Blu ray and HD dvd and HMDI bose has yet to catch up. Since you mentioned THX cables you bring up something that Bose never mentioned If THX is the gold standard and Bose is the best sound etc etc,why hasnt Bose gotten THX certified in all these years? Whwn i went to look for my surround sound i looked at Bose just for giggles and took my fav piece of music its the Final Duel from Star Wars return of the jedi its a real low multi layered piece it sounded horrible the sales guy was pissed and asked me to leave,lol My current set up is the Denon 2803 with Mirage surround sound will update that soon though for HMDI connections. People with keen ears dont use Bose,people who want brand recognition and don't feel like doing homework for surround sounds choose Bose I used to sell them and think that the lifestyle system lacks midrange and sounds tinny. For the same money you can get a great set of Klipsh surround speakers that sound twice as good. Get the measurements of the area you want to place them and go from there, making sure you place them where they tell you to place them, so you get the full effect. I have some nice Bose for my surround sound and the bass is incredible. I have always owned Bose and always will, nothing compares. I have a friend that went out and spent $2500-3000 for a home theater sound system and my $1200 bose 3-2-1 system will blow his away. The clarity and quality of the Bose is unmatched. I will put it this way...I remember Bose just like this...."No highs, no lows, just Bose." You fill in the blanks. Plus...you didnt need to spend the money on Monster Cable...you are mostly paying for the name. But, that is only my opinion...the rest sounds great. From a true audiophile, with an audiophilte system, Bose is not even close to being on the radar for true sound reproduction. People that swear that Bose is the best and that their 3-2-1 system can outperform a comparable $1000 mirage, klipsch, definitive, or even klipsch system is either completely dumb or deaf. An industry addage is "No highs, no low, must be bose". They over enhance the midrange and forget about the areas that give sound its better quality. Bose is great at advertising, nothing more. Sounds nice when set-up right, but WAY over-priced. i think Bose is okay for surround sound system..but for music there are a lot better for less...for ease, the 3-2-1 is okay for an office or spare room i think Bose is fine, for a home theater room definitely not but that's my opinion
