buy a dvd recorder and hook it up to the vcr. play the tapes on the vcr and record them with the dvd recorder. the only problem is you have to watch all of the videos VHS tapes are analog format and DVDs use a digital format so first thing you'll need to do is convert Analog to Digital. You can do this by feeding the video through a video capture card on your computer then burning it to DVD. If you have a set top DVD recorder you can use a SIMA CT-2 to copy your tapes directly from the VHS player to the DVD recorder. There are several good DVD recorders available for around $200.00 and the SIMA CT-2 costs about $50.00. for 25 dollars you can buy for your computer an adapter called "Quick TV" or "QuickTV". hook ur vhs player to it and press play and record and you can watch and record live tv with out heavy equipment and wasted $$$$$. againn compare $25 to $500.99 dvd recorder are the easiest way. the more u spend the more options u will have (e.g. chapters, menus, etc.). u can also buy a cheaper one if u just want to copy it right over. The easiest way would be to buy a DVD/VCR combo, then you would play your VCR tapes and record them onto a DVD disc.
Or you could buy just a DVD recorder and hook it up to your VCR and record them to DVD.
