Xbox 360 display resolution question...?
We recently got the Xbox 360 HD DVD Add-on for its 1080p feature. We have the Sony Sony KDL-40XBR2 LCD TV, which is fully capable of 1920 x 1080p through its VGA port per page 51 of the owner's manual. The highest I can go is 1280 x 1024. When I attempt the 1920 x 1080, the screen says the video signal is not supported and reverts back to 1280 x 1024. I got this same result with both a Psyclone VGA cable and a Microsoft Xbox VGA cable.
The footnotes on that page of the user's manual also state that:
This TV's PC input does not accept Sync on Green or composite sync.
This TV's PC input does not support interlaced signals.
For the best picture quality, it is recommended to use the signals (boldface) in the above chart with a 60Hz vertical frequency from a personal computer. In plug and play, signals with a 60Hz vertical frequency will be selected automatically.
Am I overlooking something? All help will be appreciated.

I've actually been looking into this a bit myself. I got a 360 for my birthday a couple weeks ago so decided to finally get a HDTV. I also went w/ a Sony XBR2 model.
I started doing a little research about the value of the HD-DVD add-on and was curious if there would be a problem due to the lack of HDMI on the 360. This is what I've found out so far - and it's not a lot of info:
- there is a thought that the 'sync on green' may be the issue
- there is a conspiracy theory that the resolution issue is MS's way of sticking it to Sony (yeah, I realize how ridiculous that is)
