T h e a t e r i n g ! If you only have yellow and white going into your receiver then all you are inputting is mono so you will not be able to get surround sound. I would take the other persons advice and use digital audio. You probably won't do any good when using the vcr but the dvd side should have optical or coaxial digital audio outputs. The special cables you need are a little more expensive but well worth the money.
