Simple Answer is yes. There should be absolutely no issues with up-converting any movie that you pop into an up-converting DVD player. Your entire library of movies are capable of being played through an up-converting DVD player with no problem. The issue that comes up is when you try to connect the DVD player through another device before the TV, say for instance through an Audio/Video receiver. This is where the HDCP (High Bandwidth Digital Content Protection) causes a problem. I deal with this almost everyday in my job (National Trainer for Monster cable), and the problem people run into is that you may run an HDMI cable from the DVD player, through a Receiver and then to your television - the DVD player recognizes the receiver as the end, and the receiver doesn't send (pass-through) the signal. If you're planning on doing this make sure that you have a receiver that has an HDMI repeater built into it and you won't have any problems. All new Denon receivers which model numbers end in 07 have HDMI pass-through. no, they upconvert.

i have one and it does. simply YES. it will upconvert regardless of copyright.. i own over 300 dvds and upconverts all of them with no problems.. the only thing that probably matters is the type of cable you use for the dvd player.. might not notice the difference, but dvd player should say which resolution its at.
