Why should I buy a HD-DVD/Blu-Ray player?

there will be more reasons to get

one of these players if you have

a compatible HDTV set.

you might want to wait another year

to get one that offers a more reliable

T h e a t e r i n g ! To watch the next generation of DVDs. I would wait to find out which format is going to be the most popular though. So I don't waste my money like a bunch of people did with Beta. You should just wait a while because in a few years everything is just going to be downloaded and stuff so DVDs and DVD players will die out like CDs. I would Waite about one year before you get ether one.

The reason being is that one could become obsolete, and the prices will come down.

However, if you really want to get one, I would go with the blu-ray. They cost more, but they hold more information, and they supposedly have higher quality. You don't yet. Every movie is still coming out on DVD. Many DVD only, and not on bluray. Wait until the price drops and then get one If you have the money (about $400 for HD-DVD and about $1,000 for Blu-ray) and a TV set that accepts High Definition signals (I would recommend a minimum of 1080i) and if you enjoy watching movies a lot, go ahead and do it. The picture is truly stunning and the sound will be better than anything DVD can offer. When viewing either Blu-ray or HD-DVD movies, the tiny dots that make up the picture on your TV screen are even tinier than they are now. What this means is that picture detail will be incredible. Here's an example: Cameron Diaz might look like she has no acne on a movie recorded on DVD; on Blu-ray or HD-DVD, you will see what she truly looks like, and pimples and other imperfections will become noticeable.
