Why is the sound coming from TV speakers and sound coming from stereo speakers not exactly aligned?
I have my television connected to my stereo receiver. I am trying to use my television speaker as my center channel. All speakers are working, but there is a slight delay or misalignment in timning between the tv speakers and stereo speakers, creating somewhat of an echo. What can I do?
Answer:
check that all rca's are connected proper and that they aren't in rough shape That shouldn't happen Nothing. The processing on your tv audio output simply puts out the sound later than the built in tv amplifier that powers your tv speakers. How come you are trying to use your tv as a center channel? If there is a delay then obviously the tv wasnt meant to be used as a center channel. Either use your TV speakers or your stereo speakers seperately. Playing two different type of speakers especially from different amplifier sources will cause certain cancellations and to put it plainly, your tv speakers will ruin the sound of your better speakers. If you have a surround sound reciever buy a center channel, preferably the same brand as your front speakers. If you are just using a a stereo reciever then turn off your TV speakers. Your stereo receiver is getting the same signal that is driving your TV speakers. There are different amounts of processing done to each signal by those devices. The TV simply amplifies it and sends it to the speaker. The receiver has more processing circuits in it, including a surround-sound decoder, as well as other control circuits. Some receivers digitize the audio inputs and operate on the signals in the digital domain. All of these operations add delay to the signal.
You should not use the TV sound as a center channel, because it contains much more than center channel information and will dilute the stereo and surround effects. If you can disconnect the speaker in your TV and connect it to the center chennel ouput of your receiver, that would work. The best thing to do is to get a center speaker and turn off the TV speakers.
