Why does my Yamaha RS-V550 receiver shut off with load bangs in audio?

I have a Yamaha RS-V550 receiver and I hooked up my PS3 to it to watch Blu-Ray movies. I have had the system for about two years now and have not had any problems. While watching Swordfish my receiver will shut off when there is any load sounds like gun shots or explosions.

I had recently rewired the two rear speakers through the walls and ceilings using monster 14/4 inwall speaker wire and Atholon speaker wall plates. I checked all of the polarites and they are all correct. All of my Klipsch speakers are 8 ohms. The required ohms for my receiver.

I don't know if it is the audio format from the Blu-ray disc or something else. My receiver does not decode the audio format from the Blu-ray disc. The receiver is in "Straight" which is a mode the plays the audio straight from the media.

I hope to get some good information I am getting frustrated and about to spend a grand on a new receiver.

Okay, so you have checked all of the polarities, but have you

checked to make sure none of the opposite polarity wires are

touching on either the speaker end, along the wiring, or at the

receiver end? If you have already confirmed all of this, and

your speakers are all rated at 8 Ohms, the only problem I can

think of is that, your receiver is being driven too hard and is

shutting down due to overload of the amplifier section.

Also, some speakers, even though they say, "8 Ohms nominal",
