Why can't I get an HDTV signal? I need to hook up my hdtv to home theater, tivo, cable box.?
Recently added Home Theater to the mix. Always had to use AV/TV to see Tivo series 2 (not HD) and use Tivo features, and that is working, but I used to be able to switch mode on TV to another component and get HDTV. Would like that to work again. I have component STB Cable set up, but no signal, assume it's wiring but I can't figure it out. Cable company no help at all. I'm a novice at this whole set up so be kind Thx

How are you connecting Coax to the STB and Tivo at the same time? This is where your cabling may have gone wrong.
Best way is probably to purchase a coax splitter. One goes to your Tivo and the other one goes to your STB.
Tivo would connect to your HDTV via s-video, then STB would connect via component to your HDTB.
Then, you can use the Tv/video or Video button to toggle between both inputs to view Tivo and STB. To get the HD signal I had to upgrade the existing cabling in the home. It worked fine with Analog, but for digital it was less then useless. Go to the site below and click on the proper link (for single tuner or dual tuner tivo)
I'll assume you have a dual tuner tivo series 2 ...
Use a coax splitter at the wall and connect one end to the Cable box and one end to the tivo. Your cable box should have an hdmi output. Use an hdmi cable to connect from the cable box to the hdmi input on your tv. You should then be able to select the input source on your tv for this connection as HD STB and get a signal. You'll want to use HDMI to get the best quality picture and audio....
Follow the diagram for the rest of your devices...
