Why are monster cables better than other brands?

Here's the straight story. If you're transporting digital such as with HDMI or DVI cables, if the signal gets from one end of the cable to the other, it doesn't matter if it's the ridiculously over priced Monster brand or any other... the picture will be perfect, regardless. The data simply doesn't care as long as it gets there. Analog is a different story. There are cheap cables out there, but any decent quality cable will do the same thing as Monster. You won't be able to see or hear the difference unless you have the best equipment in the world and you see and hear better than the 99th percentile of humans. Even then, the difference will be negligible. In other words, it's a nice cable, but it's mostly hype and way, way overpriced for what it is. Bottom line, side by side, you're not likely to see or hear the difference between Monster and other good quality cables. So why waste the money? Don't believe me, though. Go to a store that has different brands and compare them. On digital programs, it's impossible for there to be any difference. On analog programs, I defy you to see or hear any difference. craftmanship they just are I wouldnt buy anything from Monster cable, they are ridiculously over priced and no where near worth the money, Of course they are going to be represented as the best because Best Buy recommends them to make money. They aren't always better, it depends on what you are using them for. With cables you want to keep signal in, and disturbance out. Monster coats their cables with more insulation than most other companies. They also use gold tips on most of thier cables, and make them so they twist on and lock instead of just pushing them in. All this keeps the signal in better than the cables that came with whatever you bought. Now, if it was a vcr, or a stereo surrond system, buying monster is a waste of money, you won't get all that much better performace out of the monster cables than you would the standard cables. I used to sell home theater equipment, and went to a few monster training courses when they were in the area. Higher quality wire, better shielding, better connectors, better jacket, better insulator. Fine for any system out there.
