Who thinks there should be a clear-cut winner in the Blu-Ray/HD DVD format war?
Because I'm tired of having to wait to see which one is winning. I don't like the idea of the backing companies forcing the consumer to choose one or the other because it is they that have the most to lose if they spend thousands on equipment that will eventually become obsolete.
Personally, I back Blu-Ray. Why? Pirates!

There should be one format that wins...but there probably never will be.
It's just like video game consoles.you don't see one company either sony, microsoft or nintendo about to be beat out so that one console remains now do you? And some games are exclusive to one console while others are multi-platform just like how some movies are exclusive to either blu ray or hd dvd while some are on both right?
Unfortunately it looks like bluray and hddvd are here to stay for a very long time. Solution! Dual Format BluRay/Hd-Dvd player.
I have one. It plays both great. If you hate choosing, don't support one or the other, support both! =) I back Blu-Ray and yes I would like one to win and get it over with. HDTV/Blu Ray players, yes is a solution but I dont what to fork out 1k for it.
Just decide already so I can start my new library of high def movies!! well, i like both--blu ray has an outstanding picture and capacity, but has had consistant problems from day one, but, i do support hd dvd only because they have not had, any huge problems, or have not changed anything in the formatting-like blu ray has(lawsuit for disc material, spots, and DRM problems to name a few)
