Which is the best home theater receiver on the market today?
I am upgrading and getting ready to jump into HDTV however I also have an extensive music library and also like to channel music to other rooms in the house when entertaining. I am looking in the $500-$1000 range and would like the eceiver to handle todays technology.

I fully enjoy my DENON 2807 reciever it has everything i need for home theater and for multi room play,Hmdi hookup and upconverting and it supports 1080p, which is currently the new standard for HD. AND it has a dock avail sep for the ipod

First off you need a system with atleast an A and/or B channel although it is nice to have something with a true second zone. Brand is also a big one, Yamaha, Denon Onkyo, Marantz, and a few others, but definitely NOT Sony or the non-elite Pioneer stuff. Other questions would be do you need video switching? what kind? do you mind buying online or do you prefer a local retailer? I am only touching on the tip of the ice berg, but I hope this helps. Hi,
