Which brand of Home Theatre System in a Box do you like?

The best bet would be to piece together a system on your own and pay a little more for quality. You have to consider if you are only paying $500 for a "home theater system", you have to divide that price up between 4 speakers, subwoofer, receiver, dvd player, manufacture cut, store cut. That is 9 things being cut up between $500 and not all of it is going towards what you are actually purchasing. You will ultimately be let down by your purchase and will later end up spending more down the road. Future proof your investment by spending a little bit more money and getting something you will enjoy listening to. You don't have to spend $10k and up like some of the rest of us audiophiles. You can get a decent Yamaha receiver at Best Buy for around $700. From there you can go to dealers and tell them what you have for a receiver, this way you can hopefully have them test out different sets of speakers on what you have or something comparable. But do go out and listen to different sets of speakers as everyone's ear is different. Please be aware that Bose is nothing more than a home theater in a box as well and you can do better piecing together your own than plunking down your hard earned money on their product. Good luck. LG have better picture none. no home thrater in a box is good. atleast none that i have found. peice together your own system if you want something that doesnt suck.
