When i burn a avi. file on to a dvd does the dvd work in any dvd player if it dosnt how do i get it

A video authoring program will convert your .avi file to the DVD format, which consists of several control files with weird file extensions. The video edit suite will also burn a DVD for you once it has transcoded the video, if you have a DVD burner installed in your computer. A regular DVD player plays (you guessed it) regular DVDs. Some of the newer players WILL play DVD R/RW, etc.

But .avi files are a different animal altogether, they are in the realm of COMPUTERS.

Change IS a-gonna come...its just movin' like molasses right now. What you need is a DVD authoring program to convert your AVI file into DVD standard files. Then you will be able to play it in any DVD player. As it is you can only play an AVI file on a computer.
