What's the best bookshelf speaker on the market?

Just to name a few. Some of these may sound awesome to you. Others may sound like crap. the funny thing is that the speakers that sound awesome to you might sound horrible to others and vise versa. Go listen to many speakers. bring your own CD and make them use the same amp to audition all the speakers. I agree with the first post, and have to add. Nice hat! BOSE, NO DOUBT!!! First, there is no best, because everyone's criteria are different, space,size, type of music, location and not least of all, budget. That said, there is a radical company on-line AV123.com that is getting phenomenal reviews. Their new $200/pr xls speaker was designed by one of the industry's top young designers, so I bought a pair. What can you get for $200? They were outstanding, and what really impressed me was how much support they show their fans and how open they are about feedback from the owners. I added the matching, powered sub for $200 and together they've replaced a very excellent pair of floor-standing Missions. Top quality, low price, product support, loyal and growing fan base...hard to beat. I bought a bigger pair in "South American Rosewood" because I loved Brazilian and there is no more. Not only was the finish exquisite, but they packed white gloves in the box to unpack the speakers, now that's going above and beyond...BTW, my house is loaded with expensive audio gear, so I don't mind spending the money, but I really love getting "bang for the buck!." The only problem I've incurred is when they sell out of an item and I don't like waiting...who does, but I guess that means they are doing something right. Check out a pair of Totem Mites. They are incredible speakers at a mid-range price. I have two pairs in my home and they are the best bang for my buck. the best judge is your own ears, try going to some stores, and i don't mean wal-mart.... go to a good electronic store, and take along a good CD, make sure it has a lot of bass, and vocals and switch between several pairs of speakers, until you narrow your choice down, but if you want my opinion, JBL makes some good speakers, the musicians use them in studios Check out the KEF's XQ1 http://www.kef.com/products/xq/xq1.asp...
