What kind of cables do I need for HDTV?
So I've bought an HDTV that has these input options
Composite Video: 3 (RCA)
S-Video: 3 (4-pin mini DIN)
Component Video: 2 (RCA x 3)
VGA RGB Signal: 1 (15-pin mini d-Sub)
HDMI Interface: 2
Stereo Audio In: 5 (RCA L/R)
PC Audio In: 1 (mini stereo plug)
What type of cables do I want to get to connect a cable box and my pc to this tv? I have a DVI port on my video card but I'm not sure what the cable box will have.

Your best choice is HDMI, it gives you the best picture and sound in one cable. Look on ebay because you can find great deals on these and save A LOT of cash. You can also buy converters to change from DVI to HDMI but it will not give you sound. These are just cables, make sure the male or female ends match what you need. The next best choice is component video then s-video. Chances are you will only have a component out on your cable box. I have comcast and it is best to have the cable company come and hook up your new HDTV cable box. They should test the lines and make sure you have a strong enough signal for HDTV. They also provided the component cables for me as I believe they are responsible for the signal until it reaches your tv. always go by this order in quality:
1) HDMI
2) DVI + Digital Optical Audio Cable for sound
3) Component Video/Audio
4) S-Video + Digital Optical Audio Cable for sound
5) RCA
If you are to go with RCA, the gauge of the cables will help a lot. I will provide more shielding for better sound and picture.
