What kind of antenna can I get for my Samsung HDTV that doesn't require my going on my roof?
I have an ATSC tuner (I have the lns4092d model) and want to watch over-the-air HD channels.

Most of the answers here fail to tell you that, in order to get a good signal indoors, you have to be relatively close to the transmitter (say, twenty to thirty miles). Even then, the signal can be interfered with just by people moving around the room or the cat playing with the antenna. You can't beat a rooftop antenna if you want a good, strong signal that won't frustrate you with the picture going in and out. There are all kinds of antennas available that you can mount just about anywhere. You spent some money on your TV, shouldn't you spend a little and give it a good signal as well? off air antennas do not require you to get on the roof. ours sits behind the tv. Technically, you can use a pair of regular bunny ears antennas. But, if you are not close enough to the TV station, you may lose signal. It usually either works or it doesn't. I live next to a large city that broadcasts for hundreds of miles and I still require a rooftop antenna. I feel sorry for anyone living any further away. It's a design flaw. Try the bunny ears first, but there are some available that plant into the ground like a satellite dish (or over one). And beware that it DOESN'T have to say HDTV to be an HDTV antenna. Just because it says HDTV on the box and is more expensive doesn't mean it's more effective. You will have to get either a satellite dish to put on the side of your house, or digital/HD cable, which requires a cable box. A regular antenna will not give you any kind of resolution for your HDTV. Parts Express has some good choices for indoor HD antennas...
