What is your favorite Tim Burton movie, and why?

I have to ask this question.

I think it pretty much explains itself.

I love Edward Scissorhands... I think it is the best movie Tim Burton has done. I like some of the others (Beetlejuice and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory), but not as much.

I am not sure why. I think primarily because he made Edward so easily liked despite his appearance. Maybe it was that Edward's tenderness and innocence tugged at your heart a bit. He is vulnerable without being weak or sappy. I almost always cry at the end. Plus the surreal aesthetic beauty (especially with the gardens of the castle and the shrubbery sculptures) and the way that touches the viewer and makes it seem more like a fairytale. It also cleverly depicts the contrasts in society; there is the obvious contrast between the brightly colored happy town and the dark, gloomy castle but also one between the townspeople who adore Edward and the darker personalities of those who torment him and make fun of him. And, of course, the old adage about not judging by appearance is represented here as well. It has so many facets, which is typical of Burton, but it will always be my favorite I think. i love tim burton!

it's just so freakin amazing and emotional and [as like all of his films] very creative! of course, johnny depp being in it would be another factor, lol, and it is such a twisted love story :)! Yarrrrr im a pirate and im stealing 2 points! ha ha ha ha
