I see this commercial for Verizon FIOS and the cable guy finishes his line with "it's +20 dpi, its true qam". what does this term mean?

QAM stands for "quadrature amplitude modulation," the format by which digital cable channels are encoded and transmitted via cable.
so True QaM..better bigger , faster...yeah sure... He probably said +20 dbi. Thats the signal measurement used for cable TV signals.
