What is the difference between series 2, 3, 4 of bose acoustimass 10 - aside from age?

NO. No difference detected but better performance noticed from other manufacturers at the price. The Series III and Series IV Differ only that the Center chanel was changed only for cosmetic reasons. The took a vertical cube, and made it horizontal to make it blend better with the wide screen tvs. The Series 3 im not sure about. But the better sound comes from the newer series. none really. Skip the Bose! You can find much better speakers for less money and will provide better sound quality.. Paradigm is a great choice for the $$$...
