What is the cheapest way to get a very large screen? About a whole wall but good resolution too.....

There are screen projectors available. Just search online. How good they are? You will have to find out. But that is the least expensive way to get a wall-sized picture without spending the big bucks on a high-resolution video projector television.

You'll want to keep track of how bright the projector is. If you're going to be using it for regular viewing you'll need a certain rating so that you don't need the lights off. Paint a wall white and go out and buy one of those projectors that hook up to either your tv or a computer or dvd player.

I saw one in a flyer for under 300...but that might have been on sale. projectors, there a little pricy, but they can get as big as your wall can, man! I'm doing that right now. Your question is a two parter. part A for the cheapest screen is to use an interior wall. Paint it as white as possible. It will not be as good as a screen because screens will reflect back more light to your eyes. However, I've found that the light thrown on a wall is very bright to start. You just don't want to start off with a dark wall where the light gets absorbed and you cannot see the different colors clearly. The wall is the cheaper part. Part B you'll need a front projector. There are two main types. Theres one that business people use for presentations and the home theatre dedicated projectors. There is a major price difference also. You can get a business projector that can project DVD movies (but not HD DVD or Bluray) with clarity for $750-1500. The Home theatre ones have higher resolution and better chips for color and run I believe above $4K. Im running a business projector with the WXGA resolution. I've had it for a few years and its projecting a 120 inch diagonal picture (widescreen). I like the name brands but get at least a WXGA or XGA resolution. Happy hunting. You can get a 720p projector under $1000 and it will project up to a 10 foot image. To do a proper installation, you would need to ceiling mount the projector and buy a large projection screen. This would cost another $1000 for mount and screen.
