What equipment do i need to play movies on an outdoor projector?

I recently purchased an outdoor projection screen and I want to have a movie night for friends and family during our reunion campout this year. I have a projector and dvd player. Do I need speakers? Is there any other equipment I am missing?

Unless you're planning on all huddling around the pj for sound, if it even has a speaker, you will need to have a receiver and at least a couple of speakers. Run the video from your DVD to your pj and the audio from your DVD to your receiver.

weeder You need something to reproduce the sound. You can take your existing HT system outside, or if you are buying a new one, get a HTIB or reciever or precessor/amp and speakers.

Keep in mind, you need to play it pretty loud if everyone is sitting outside. You will need the same equipment you are using indoors:

1) DVD player

2) AV receiver (preamp processors/ amplifier if you prefer)

3) Speaker connection

4) Control (IR relays & universal remote control so that you don't have to go inside to turn on your system)

5) Outdoors speakers and subs

There are plenty of options with the outdoors speakers:

You can get box speakers such such the Tannoy i6AW or the Speakercraft OE8 Threes. Decide if you want a 2.1, 3.1, 5.1 or 7.1 sound system...

You may want to go with the fancy rock speakers...Speakercraft should have a decent rox speakers...

Outdoor subs...Yes they do have those...rock type, burial type, planteers, name it they have it...Speakercraft's rock subwoofer should be enough for your application. Unless you have the money to upgrade to the James Loud burial sub...

I suppose you can also use James Loud speakers for your outdoor cinema. They would cost a bit more than a Speakercraft system.
