What dvd player works best for burned dvds?

I have an older one that doesn't play them correctly and my xbox just got screwed up from playing them. My girlfriends junky dvd player plays them fine however. Any suggestions?

I've had luck with Panasonic and Philips. Both of these have what is called multi-format playback. I would suggest you go to a retail place that has them on display. If you get a good salesperson they will let you try out the dvd player you are interested in to make sure it fits your needs. I work for Circuit City and have actually hooked displays up for customers so that they can put their own dvd in to make sure it will play before they purchased it. DVD R/RW Dozens. I've got a couple Sony's in the $60-$80 price range with progressive scan. They play name-brand DVD+R's just fine. DO you burn from the internet? If so, go for a brand like Toshiba or LG, the handle most formats and DIVX(Burnt from internet). Work at futureshop. Thx. I know someone that work in a facility that has to play burn DVD from clients all the time and I asked them the same question. They told me that after trying so many brands the found out that their DVD recorder which was used as a backup for playing DVDs so far has been the 100% reliable solution. So now they are using the low end Panasonic DVD burner for play back and all their problems have disappeared.
