it seems like a great deal ,does anyone have any experience with it or know if its worth getting?

Hi.For the money it is very good value .Even at the normal price it would be a good choice Also the new LCD TECHNOLOGY is up there with the best and even rivals DLP for image quality. I paid $6,000 aus. for the first Sharp DLP Projector 3 years ago and now they four or five times cheaper but thats how it goes.The SHARP DLP is also great value for the money so i think either would be a worthwhile purchase. Depends on what you want it for, LCD's can have screen door effect (looks like you're looking though screendoor when viewed up close ) DLP has rainbow effect that some people can see

Epson has higher brightness but lower contrast but unless you have a darkened room you may not notice the difference.

Epson has a better native display 1024x768(720p) Pixels vs Sharps 854x480(480p) Pixels which means the bigger the picture the more pixelated so epson can handle bigger projection image

Lamp hours both the same 2000-3000 hrs ( about 2-2 1/2 years viewing )

Lamp cost Epson $299 free shipping(from Epson) ;Sharp approx $420 plus shipping(multiple venders)

I had a Epson homelite 20 ($399 refurbished from epson) nice in darkened room not so great in livingroom
