What connections are available on 16 gauge speaker wire -- need to buy correct Receiver?
My new house will have in-wall 16-gauge speaker wire, but not sure what connection will be -- is there a standard that will obviously fit my Yamaha receiver? Sorry! New to A/V world!!!

Besides bare wire itself, go with bananas. These are very easy to connect to your Yamaha receiver.
NOTE: For long runs of speaker wire, it would be in your best interest to go with larger diameter wiring (i.e. 14 gauge or larger).

I would say you made an excellent choice for speaker wire, most people would choose the cheaper 18 ga. rather the better 16ga. wire.
