Using HDMI to DVI converter, I don't get an audio.?

So here's my situation. I hook up my Playstation 3 to my pc lcd monitor (2005 fpw by dell) using HDMI to DVI converter. I understand that it won't transmit the audio.

However I don't have too many options here, my LCD doesn't equipped with audio out either.

At home I have Logitech 5.1 connected to my computer, and PS3 has a digital audio output as well. Now I wonder how do I connect this speakers (5.1) to my PS3?

note: i'm a noob when it comes to this, but I do have a sound card with a digital audio output as well

I agree with sharkbait. When you use the HDMI to DVI convertor, you are losing the audio portion of the signal and are left with the video portion that goes to your monitor.

Forget about your PC. You will not need it in this process. If your speakers have a digital audio input, which they should if they are true 5.1, then just plug a cord in from the digital audio output on the back of the PS3 to the input on the speaker system. If they do not have a digital audio input, then they are not truely 5.1 and are just playing a stereo signal on all five speakers. In this case, you will run a cord from the RCA audio outputs on the back of the PS3 to the speaker system. You can use a RCA to headphone jack converter if necessary. what is the model of your logitech speakers? sound card also if possible DVI does not contain Audio. You will have to run separate audio cables. HDMI does contain both digital audio and video, but DVI is a Digital Video Input only.
