TV won't play DVD-R dvd's?

My TV and computer wont play my DVD-R dvd's, My computer burnt them alright but now wont recognise them. I have used -R dvd's before but of a different brand and they both played them fine.

Even though your computer burnt them ok, seeing as they aren't playing it could be several things. The mostly likely candidate could be the DVD'S themselves. Most of the time a DVD will look in good shape but somewhere in the burn process it doesnt allow the burn to happen completely and cause problems on the dvd that prevents it from being read. Another option is you have burnt the wrong format for the dvd to play on your dvd player but seeing as you said it wouldn't play on your computer either. that has me believing it is the disc not your player. Some options to test these theories is to a) look at the file format of the dvd file and make sure it is in a .iso format. b) make sure it is setup to play in your region I would recommend downloading a multipurpose media player like VLC @ www.vlc.org and seeing if it plays on that if so. I am afraid it is more than likely your dvd player and you need to look into getting a region-free dvd player.

Hope that helps. your best bet is to get a multi region dvd player matey! this will make sure you can watch anything! This probably has to do with the program you burnt them with. A lot of dvd players won't play divx burned dvds. I was burning heaps of movies a while back and all played on any dvd player, playstation2, xbox, and computer.
