TV surround sound system. Subwoofer?

I've got a sony home theater system with a floor subwoofer. THe sub has a large hole in the front and the speaker fabric covering the speaker itself on one side. The hole in the front had unfortunately become a haven for a mouse in my house and now when I move the speaker I can hear poops rolling around in the speaker. I've tried to pry the speaker fabric off to get into the speaker to do a clean up but it seems to be firmly attached by something I can't see. There aren't any screws or bolts or anything on the speaker. Does anyone know how you open one up? I'm assuming there has to be a way to get in there if you needed to change the wires or something.

If it is powered and has an amplifier on the back, detach the amp

and that should give you enough room to reach

inside and clean up the "poop".

T h e a t e r i n g ! That is a GOOD question. I can only offer a "theory". I suspect that the grill and woofer driver were glued onto the front panel. If that is the case, there may not be much hope of "repairing" that subwoofer. You could try prying things apart, but there is the danger of ruining the speaker and its parts depending on what kind of gluing job was done. If you didn't do too much further damage, you might be able to devise a way of remounting the woofer driver. Perhaps someone else reading this might have a better suggestion. Try contacting the home theater mfg. they should be able to help you.

Since all speakers are manufactured differently there are no one answers for your problem.
