Projector question - How important is resolution?
I need to buy a projector for Powerpoint presentations - and, I will also use it to show our companies video commercial at trade shows.
Do I need more than the standard 800 x 600 resolution. Are the higher resolutions more fluff than what I need?

How good or bad your image looks is going to depend a lot on how big of an image you need to make. For powerpoint presentations, nobody will expect a hi-def picture; and the commercial will depend on what format your feeding it from (DVD, hard drive, VHS).
Assuming you're talking about staying in the 4:3 aspect ratio, I would say 800 x 600 would be fine for an image up to about 80" diagonal. Anything larger than that and you might want to step it up.
Having attended many trade shows myself, I can assume that your setup will be less than ideal and the image will probably suffer more from ambient lighting and electrical interference anyway.
