Projector channel changing?

I have a projector in my garagebut i dont have a cable box out there. Ive stretched a Coaxial cable but the progector only has Composite and S-Video inputs and im pretty sure the projector doesent have a channel changing feature. Ive tried doing it through a vcr but it didnt work(im not sure if it has a cable tuner). I dont have any more then like $50 to spend on this and the cheaper the better. Actual products and links would be great..

In order to view TV or change channels, you need a device with a TV tuner. Since projectors don't have a built-in TV tuner, then you need to use a VCR. If you could not get it working with a VCR, the most common mistake is to use the VCR inputs instead of the VCR outputs.

Front VCR composite ports are usually inputs. So, use the composite ports in the back of your VCR that are labeled TV-out or video-out. Connect this to your projector. Then connect the coax to your VCR labeled antenna-in or cable-in. Then, you would use the VCR remote to change channels. It depends on your tv service, if it is digital like satelite or digital cable you will need a decoder to change the channels (cable box provided by directv, dish or your cable provider) .. the VCR can't decode that info.

If you can't get an extra decoder, you will need to split the signal at the exit of your existing decoder(living room?) to your garage, which will be controlled from your living room decoder (both your tv and projectors will see the same thing).
