How does one become a dlp projecter technician?

how does one get those types of jobs and which schooling should one take?

I use to write repair manuals for DLP and LCD projectors and train projector troubleshooting. It's not that hard to repair a projector. There is no training or schooling. If you can repair computers, you can certainly repair a DLP projector.

A DLP projector consists of similar components as a computer. Power supply, mainboard, keypad and chassis. Other elements are the lamp, lamp ballast, lense and connector panel. Pretty simple stuff. Troubleshooting is a little different, but is taught when you get this job.

First, you need to find a repair center in your area. All projector manufacturers have a central repair facilities and remote repair centers at AV stores. Then, apply to a job opening.

If you are talking about being a projector installer, that takes a little more skill as that requires cabling, electrical, home theater and AV knowledge. Do you know what, that is a very interesting question. But please, excuse my ignorance but what is a dlp projecter technician ? GREAT QUESTION.

If, by "DLP technician" you mean someone who installs them - there are no set rules. You could get a job with the FireDog people at Circuit City and work your way up that way. You could get a training position at a custom home theater company. Or you could simply do it on your own (okay, not "simply" but it can be done... I should know.)
