How do I get my dvd door to open?

Some Philips DVD players have a white rectangular sticker on the bottom plate in line with the door covering a slot.
Remove the sticker ( make sure the unit is unplugged from the mains ) look inside you will see a white plastic slider move it fully to one side & voila ! the drawer she opens !
Remove your disc & take " Philip " to a service center or buy an LG :-)
