'DTS= digital theatre sound' 5.1+ channels of audio, the opinions are divided as to what is best, dts or d-digital.

Cinema dsp, is just the extra effects you can add to the sound, like: arena or hall theatre etc..

Kenwood cinema amps, have 'cinema EQ' which enhances the sound so it sounds like a Professional set-up DTS and Dolby are two brands of sound. They are made by two companies and offer different sound. It is a bit hard to explain. It is like when a movie is put together and they combine the audio and video track Dolby and DTS are two ways of doing it. I prefer DTS. I think it sounds a lot better.

Now on your amp you have these options as well they are more like an equalizer. If you select Dolby Digital it will optimize your settings for a better sound on a movie recorded in Dolby Digital. The same with DTS. When you get to the generic named sound fields they just give you different sound. Most amps have a hall which alters the settings to present an echo like you are in a hall. Now your "Cinema DSP" is something your stereo does on top of the Dolby and DTS...The sounds (Dolby or DTS) already recorded on DVDs can be altered (for better or worse) by the CinemaDSP (Digital Surround Processor) chip as it passes from your DVD player to your speakers.
