Does an optical out (toslink) to digital coaxial in (phono) cable exist?
I am trying to connect my ps3 that has an optical out (toslink) connector to my amplifier that has a digital coxial in (phono) connector. So im looking for a cable that can connect them together. Does this type of cable exist and where could i get one from? Thanks

Not exactly, but you can use an optical and a co-ax cable and fit a converter in between the two.

But the answer is "No." The toslink is actually sound as a stream of pulsing LIGHT, while the coax (its not a phono jack, but an RCA-type jack...phono refers to the large, old-style quarter-inch headphone plug/jacks) uses a bit-stream of electrical impulses.
As the other person answered, there are optical-to-coaxial converters out there, but they are harder to find and a bit spendy.
But good luck and let me know how it goes! I don't know what universe these guys are from, but I use 2 optical to coax converters in my system that work just fine.

Make sure you get the right kind, there are 2 different kinds of converters (coax to optical and optical to coax). No this type of cable does not exist. The optical toslink output is just that - an optical, digitally modulated signal that carries the surround sound information. The digital coax cable has an electrical signal that is digitally modulated. So to get the optical out from your PS3 to the digital coax input of your amp you need to convert the optical signal to an electrical one and only a convertor can do that.
So you need to buy three things.
1 - toslink cable
2 - toslink to coax converter
3 - digital coax cable.
