Do I need an AV receiver that upconverts to 1080i/p signal in order to view true HD frm blueray or H

I have an HD 1080p LCD television. I am planning on buying a home theater system but dont want to spend too much. I dont know if an HTIB with hdmi output (only) that upconverts signal to 1080i or 1080p is good enough OR i need to get an AV receiver that upconverts with at least 2 HDMI inputs and 1 HDMI output. DO i need an AV receiver that upconverts to see the true HD signal from a blue ray disc or an HD satellite receiver?

No, The upconversion will only be used for lower resolutions. if the signal is HD then the receiver can be set to pass through allowing the native signal to be received from the HD source whether it be your blu ray player or hd satellite. You will not see a huge difference in the up conversion on a TV less than 50" but you will see some improvement from a 480 up converted signal. Why don't you just run the system to the TV like you don't have any audio system. This will not require any type of conversion of anything. Then you can hook up the audio system independantly by running separate wires right from the the blu-ray player and the satellite receiver. This way you can choose to use the tv audio or the good audio.
