Do HDMI cables ("in-wall" rated) have protection against power cord interference?

I have installed 2 HDMI cables (the "in-wall" rated ones) and they run near a pre-existing power source in the wall. Does it matter if these "in-wall" rated HDMI cables are a few inches from power sources (electrical boxes, cords, etc.)? I think the answer is "no" becasue of the thick insulation built around "in-wall" rated HDMI cables, but I want to make sure.

It's not always easy to do, but any low voltage cabling in your wall should be as far away from AC lines as possible to minimize the EMI from the AC. So when I do wiring, I try to keep the AC "strapped" to say the right stud and the low voltage (Phone, Data, Video, Audio, etc.) strapped to the left side stud.

HDMI cables should have shielding, but the percentage and density of the shielding will vary from manufacturer. In-wall ratings have nothing to do with the shielding on the cable. Your cable is probably rated as CL3, CM, CMR or something along that line which means the cable complies with the National Electrical Code (NEC) which is referenced in a lot of building codes.

As long as you get a high quality HDMI cable (Atlona, Geffen to name a couple), you should be fine. Additionally, if you have metal conduit for the electrical, that will provide an extra layer of shielding.

Hope this helps! You should be fine if issues come up you can install an amplifier on the receiving end and that should clear up any problems.
