Yes they will. Most Blu-ray and HDDVD players will up-scale standard DVDs to a higher resolution as well. hd dvds will play reg dvds no problems... blu-ray i know if you buy a real expensive one then yes it will blay, but not sure about the cheaper versions Yes. The new blue ray dvd discs have regular dvd on one side, and blue ray on the other. They can play either format. Yes, both formats support regular DVDs. And do a better job than most of the DVD players on the market today!
