Bose and blu-ray?

I was wondering if anyone has heard about which way BOSE is going to go in the HD Format. I have chosen to back blu-ray which I believe is the better technology and will eventually be the clear winner. I have a BOSE 3-2-1 system in my bedroom. I am looking to get a second blu-ray player nearer to the holiday season and use it with the 3-2-1. But, if I knew BOSE might be moving towards blu-ray, maybe I might wait for a new blu-ray version of the 3-2-1 model.

Hi John.Consumers simply are not ready for a high definition DVD format if it is not spelled out simply and delivered in a manner that is not confusing or easily mistaken for existing formats.The only way high definition DVD can be pushed on consumers is ,well ,to "push it on consumers". DVD would have to be replaced . HD DVD AND BLU-RAY ARE NOT BEING POSITIONED AS REPLACEMENTS FOR DVD ,THEY ARE SIMPLY AN OPTION, which is largely ignored by the public despite millions of dollars being spent on competitive marketing .It's too much, too fast ,and with too little gain.HD DVD and Blu-ray can both exist side by side until DVD is replaced, if ever. I doubt Bose will go either way until (well, if) a clear winner emerges. Bose isn't exactly known for making cutting edge video devices. Just buy a separate Blu-Ray player if you are so inclined. no i don't believe they will make it. With a Bose 3-2-1 system you really wouldn't get any benefit from Blu-ray, as you are only usings 2 speakers to image sound. Whereas the Blu-ray would carry discrete audio to up to 7 different speakers and the support would be Dolby-EX or DTS-ES. The Bose 3-2-1 can down mix from a 5.1 sound, but you are still only using 2 speakers to play everything essentially, not counting the Bass module. The only reason to go Blu-ray would be to for the video, in your case.
