Blu-ray or HD-DVD?? Cant decide what to get.?
http://gizmodo.com/gadgets/home-entertai... from all the research i have done it would seem the Blu-Ray is going to win the over all backing of the studios. not to mention that blockbuster has decided and is only renting blu-ray. blu-ray looks as good as hd-dvd. there are more commercial benefits for the blu-ray because of capacity. there are more major brand company developing and designing blu-ray now. why do you think hd-dvd players are at a low 299.99 ea. the share holders are dropping and getting out from what i read. blu-ray is in bigger demand. PS3 is a great game console, and a efry good BluRay player, which now goes for $499, and you get few free movies. You can get Toshiba HD-DVD for under $300 - and get few free movies.
Comparing to the investment into a decent TV (at least 42"), and a decent sound system, exra few dollars for a a second DVD player is not a huge factor. Does not justify "waiting out who will win the war'.
Keep in mind, if there would not be a war - the cost of the DVD players would be in $1000 range... Hi.This is what happens when a situation like this occurs .DVD (normal) would have to be replaced but HD DVD and Blu-ray are not being positioned as replacements to normal DVD.They are simply an option.With false starts for both HD DVD and Blu-ray as well as PS3,this issue is still a state of mind for many consumers,even those who are consistently early adopters.The back and forth claims made by both camps,also does not do much to convince buyers that either format is ready to take over and win.
