Bit of a problem with my new house and HTIB?

We recently moved into a new house and I was excited to see that the basement had speaker wires wired though the walls. I decided to buy a new HTIB because the one I had at the time was crap. I bought some Philips one but when it arrived I noticed that the speakers connected to the receiver with one of those plug things. I thought about cutting the wire by the speaker, connecting it to the wire coming out of the wall, then connecting the plug part into the base wire area. Am I clear and does anybody know if this is a good idea or of a better idea? I'd hate to waste these fine wired

You can use the Philips system with your in-home wiring. The manufacturer uses the plugs so that hookup will be easy and so that you won't be tempted to hook up alternate speakers to the system. It's not a problem to cut the wires and splice them to the wiring in the wall as long as you're using the speakers supplied with the system. Just take note of the polarity of the wires so you're connecting + to + and - to -.

If the polarity isn't labeled, just be sure to do all the speakers the same way. If you reverse the polarity on all of the speakers, the sound will be fine. But if you reverse the polarity on only some of them, the sound will be affected negatively. return it and get one that doenst have that hook up

sorry but running wire suck and if it is already run it is much better that way
