Bi-amp or bridge mono - what is the best solution for your hifi?

depends on what you are doing. I assume that you have several mono block amps, the correct answer is to hook it up both ways and see which way sounds better. for what application? You give no details. Running an amp bridged is bad for it. You will seriously reduce its lifespan by doing so.

Bi-amping separates the sonic spectrum and allows the highs and lows to be amplified and sent to the speakers separately - not allowing the lows to muddle up the highs in the signal in the process and therefore representing a more accurate reproduction of the original signal.

Clearly bi-amping will both make your system sound better and last longer.

In order to achieve a stereo signal you are required to have two power amps for both a bridged system and a bi-amped system.

In the bridged system you will bridge one amp for the left channel and the other for the right.

In a bi-amped system, you will use one amp to reproduce the low frequency spectrum of the left and right channel and the other amp to reproduce the mid/high frequency spectrum of the left and right channel.

One other ingredient required for a bi-amped system is a crossover which decides which frequencies get sent to which amp.

I would also suggest using a power amp for the low frequencies that is rated at approximately twice the power of the the amp for the mid/high frequencies since the low end of the sonic spectrum gobbles up the most power.
