while im playing an xbox 360 game,my xbox 360 controller flashes 2 green lights back and forth and then stops.and it keeps on doing so.what does that mean? thx

if it is wireless, it might be losing sync with the console, have you tried replacing the batteries? if you have more than one controller, does it happen with both. does it happen with both wired and wireless controllers?
do some troubleshooting to see if you can pin down the circumstances under which the flash occurs, that will help isolate the problem. its probably not a big deal if all the controls/buttons still work The only time I have seen this happen is when my batteries are dying. One thing I noticed to help with this is a little battery icon that usually shows up on the top left of the Xbox screens. It shows you how much battery life your controllers have left so you don't have to guess or wait for the lights to start flashing!
