FYI: All PS3 games will be in Blu-ray, so unless you have a magic PS2 that can read Blu-ray disks, you can't play PS3 games on the PS2.
Yes, companies will continue to produce games for the PS2 because there's still a lot of people who don't have a PS3, but still have a PS2. Just don't expect a whole lot of PS2 games to be released. No, Playstation 2 has already been formatted for DVDs Playstation1 and 2 games as well as CDs. They can't make it so Playstation 3 works as well. However, Playstation 3 will play all of the above plus Blu-ray disc. Its a money making scheme really.
