Zelda and the Minish Cap help ASAP =[ !!?

I'd really like help as soon as possible for my game ok. So here's the problem: I'm at the part where I have to return the library books. I have been to many sites but the problem is they all tell me what I know; that i need to ram into the shelves on which they are mounted upon. I went to the mayors house and rammed into the shelf... the book did not fall. I went to the little girls house tried the same thing got not a thing. Someone please tell me how to get the job done. I love this game and I've had this problem for months on this game, I even went as far as deleting the level I had gotten to just to see if maybe I had messed up. Of course this all means I have acquired the boots. Please help me! I'd give you an e-hug and e-cookies lol

You need to return three books.

You'll find one book in the house with the blue roof at the lower right corner of the town. Fill your bottle with water from the river and return to those two blue roofed houses and enter the one on the left. Extinguish the fireplace with your water and go into it as Minish. Go to the house next door via the small bridge on the roof. Watch out for the cat and climb the ladder. There you can push down the book. Change to normal size, and return the book (A Hyrulean Bestiary).

For the second book go the man who lives in the house with the blue roof on the far left side of town, and have a full water bottle, too. Speak to him and then pour your water on the fire. make yourself small at the carpenters house. Go back to the house, into the fireplace. Head up and into that little mushroom house, fuse Kinstones with the Minish in here. Go up into the Stranger's house and out the small back door. Go right, down, right, up, down and past the cats to reach a vine down to a fountain cave.
