2 questions about the Xbox 360?

Do you really use the hard drive for anything if you don't plan on playing games over Xbox live? If you don't have high speed internet, is it just there for game saves? Or does it have another purpose?

How long is the cord on the wired controller?

I very rarely play games on xbox live, but I think my 360 would be useless without it's hard drive. You need it for saves and to play original xbox games. BTW, no you don't need a high speed connection to play original games, you can download the update from xbox.com and burn it to a cd.

The cord on the controller is about 8 feet, but if you get the premium or Elite (which is what I suggest) they come with a wireless controller. it's really just for game saves, unless you want to rip music cd's to listen to while playing. but you won't be able to play any original xbox games without having an internet conection.

and you're really limiting what the 360 can do without being online. you get access to demos, online cghat, movie trailers, and arcade games.

oh, and I believe that the cord is about 8 ft dude i would get a hard drive the memory cards dont last very long in memory its only 64 mb card and you can play xbox live with a hard drive and you can rip music from cd's on to it its alot more fun with a hard drive and the wired controller gos about 12 feet back. i hope i helped Get the premium. The Hard drive is used for updates both for the console itself and for the games. You could get a 512mb memory card but these days, 512 really isn't that much at all.
