Why does my DVD recorder snuff the TV screen at 11:59?
Every day between 11:59 and 12:00 AM and PM, my Toshiba D-RW2 causes the TV screen to go blank on channel 3 or to static on any other channel. This happens when the TV is on and the recorder is off. When the clock strikes 12:00, everything is back to normal. It's as if the recorder turns on, but this is not the case because no functions are available and the display shows the normal off-mode clock.
The set-up, which may be irrelevent: Between the single co-ax jacks on the wall and my older TV, I have a splitter (for the VCR) with an A/B switch and an RF modulator between the DVD recorder and TV.
Does this have anything to do with the auto-clock feature of the recorder?
What's going on between 11:59 and 12:00 that so distracts my DVD recorder? One of these days, something of monumental importance will be on TV for those 60 seconds. I'm going to miss it, and that will really hack me off.

Wouldn't have anything to do with co ax jacks or splitters or A/B switches or RF modulators.
This has got to do with the settings, not the clock, but a Sleep mode or similar. Some one has put the Sleep mode settings to 'turn off' at a certain time-- 11:59. I imagine you'll only have to go into your settings, and turn it off.
