Is there any way to get my basic cable signals for a Tivo Series2 DT DVR de-scrambled.?
I recently purchased a Tivo Series2 DT DVR to go along with my Time Warner digitial cable service. However, I just learned that Time Warner in Brooklyn scrambles all their cable signals, presumably to prevent cable theft, which means you need a box to get any signal. My digital signal currently works fine because I have one of Time Warner's cable boxes, however when I try to set up my basic channel line-up for the DVR, my analog signal is all scrambled. None of my basic cable channels match up with what is on the TiVo Live Guide and it seems that the only way I can get the correct channels is to switch everything to the digital cable box signal which defeats the whole purpose of the dual tuner. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can get around this problem?

Time Warner has to put your box in their system so it can communicate with it. For a small fee of course. That is the only way to do it. Ask your cable company.
