Can anyone tell me what an "IR Receiver" is?
I'm trying to connect a T.V. tuner to my satillite set top box.

An IR receiver or sensor is the spot on your electronic device where your remote will need to be pointed in order for the remote to control the device. They usually are a little black circle or square on the front of electronics that come with remote controls. i'm probably spelling this wrong, but ir receiver is your infa red receiver....the spot that lets the remote's beam hit it. usually a little red square on your receiver.so the remote can work.
