Bought a DVD recorder but if i record i have 2 watch the channel im recording from (Sky box)?

Am i doing something wrong

When i try to tune DVD recorder in it just tunes in 1 channel , ie the one thats currently on screen

It will record but its pain not being able to watch something else while I'm recording

the recorder should have an internal tuner - my guess is its a digital tuner for receiving free-view through the aerial and your aerial is no good.

To record from sky, you need to have a scart lead from the sky box to the recorder - this you have done correctly.

you cannot record 1 while watching another sky channel because you would need two sky receivers you don't have this!

in the old days, when you could record 1 channel and watch another was because your old video had a standard TV tuner built in to it - so you could watch BBC1 on the TV via the TV tuner and the video could record iTV through its own tv tuner, u have to watch what ya recording if its a sky box , but i think u can get a wire sumwhere but they dont tell u about it cus its kind of like buying a copy dvd , (cheating|) but im sure u can get a wire of the net sumwhere for it
