Why can't I get my computer to read pictures from my digital camera?
It's an HP Photosmart M425 and it always works just fine when i transfer my pictures to my computer (it's a Dell Dimension 4700, if that matters), but I put a memory card with pictures taken by a Konica Minolta Dimage E500 in it, and the computer won't connect to it or read the pics. The cards are exactly the same type and size, and both cameras show the pics from the other ones card when I switched them, so why can't the computer read them? I don't have the right kind of mini usb cable to plug in the Konica, which is why I am trying to figure out how to do it this way.

to solve your problem If you use an external usb memory card reader, you can get the pictures. Different cameras store the pictures in different folders on the card.
And the card might require formatting "in the camera" to work correctly (formatting wipes off everything so be careful). If the pictures are stored in jpeg format, then there should be no problem with what you are doing. Each different camera sometimes puts small files onto a card for some reason. One of your cameras might be doing this. That is probably why your computer won't recognize the HP with the card from the Dimage in it......
